The enterprise bundles the complete competence of the Bayer group in the field of innovative materials under one roof and occupies in its core competencies top positions on the world market. Bayer MaterialScience is the number one amongst others at Isocyanates, adhesive raw materials, polyurethane raw materials as well as thermoplastic polyurethanes.

Under the roof of Bayer MaterialScience the business unit is organized globally but with a strong regional focus. There are special requirements in the different regions which are taken into account to offer the customers customized solutions in the different segments in a very efficient way. Innovation plays here a pivotal role. To discover trends, to develop jointly with our customers new applications and to solve problems, that is our strong performance package. The business unit Thermoplastic Polyurethanes of Bayer MaterialScience AG produces mainly at five locations:

Altogether about 700 employees gained a sales volume of about € 230 million with TPU resins and films in the year 2007. The TPU films are produced at the subsidiary firms Epurex Films and Deerfield Urethane.
